What “best” means here

We search multiple JPEG quality and resolution candidates within a 60-second budget. The result is the strongest candidate found under your limit—not a promise of lossless compression or global mathematical optimality.

Questions, answered plainly.

Does my image get uploaded?

No. Decoding, resizing, encoding, and comparison happen in your browser. The image is not sent to our server.

Will the result always be accepted?

The downloaded JPG is kept below your chosen byte limit. A third-party website may also check dimensions, composition, naming, or other rules, so acceptance cannot be guaranteed.

Why can processing take up to 60 seconds?

The tool tests several encoding and resolution candidates instead of stopping at the first small file. Large phone images and slower devices need more time.
